CAD software maker Revware buys MicroScribe from Immersion Corp. - Kansas City Business Journal:

CAD in an acronym for computer-aided design. Immersion has several business linezs with products developed for applications ranging from gamingt tomedical uses. Revware president Tom Welsh said that his company has been usiny MicroScribe products for 15 years and when he saw that Immersionm was looking tosell MicroScribe, he jumped on the “We are going to be able to focuas on MicroScribe in a way that Immersiomn was not able to,” Welsh Revware was formerly known as , a company that was a softwarwe developer as well as a reseller of the SolidWorkds CAD software.
The company grew in the 1990ws along with the technology bubble and in Design Automation made TriangleBusiness Journal’s annual ranking of the 50 fastest-growinvg companies in the Raleigh-Durham area. Welsh said Design which peaked at15 employees, had parefd down since the technology bubble burst. Revware has fewer than five employees. Welsh said with the acquisitiobnof MicroScribe, the company will grow in Raleighy and on the West But he declined to saying that negotiations are still under way. Welsu did say Revware is takingt steps to reactivate resale channelsfor MicroScribe.
